Zoom Online Meeting FAQ

This information is for events we hold using the Zoom web conferencing software. Use the links below for more details.

You only need to setup to view and hear the meeting and use the chat window if we are allowing it.

1. System requirements: Check you have the needed requirements on their needed system specifications page.

Internet: If your internet can do live streaming for viewing you are good.

Camera or microphone: Unless you are a presenter, camera and microphone is not needed. We are likely not to allow camera or audio feeds from the audience unless prearranged. Any audience participation allowed will use Zoom chat.

Operating Systems: Most are supported such as, Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android.

2. Zoom Account: Get an account at Zoom. There is a free level. An account is going to give you the best experience.

3. Zoom App:  Install the Zoom app on the device you plan to view the event. Using an app is going to be your best experience.

4. How to Use Zoom App: Check the documentation for your particular device and operating system on their getting started page.

There are links to guides for each configuration for example Getting Started with iOS.

5. Meeting code and password: Each meeting will require a meeting code and password. You need to be on our mailing list to get the code. When you get it remember to mark the email so you can find it.

We email you the meeting id and password to everyone on the list the evening before the meeting and to those joining the list after up to 2 hours before the meeting.

 

6. Etiquette and Safety:

7. Support: Zoom has plenty of support. However we cannot support you  either before meeting starts or once it is in progress.
